Dedunu-Kelum love story in miniscreen

Widely read yesteryear love story of picture story book 'Ithin Eeta Passe' which was written to miniscreen is now being screened on ITN every weekday at 8.30 pm belt. Story of star-crossed lovers Dedunu and Kelum created by well known artist Balangoda Sarath Madhu was directed to small screen by Chandika Wijesena and produced by Upul Jayasinghe on behalf of Nilwala Entertainments.

Based on the fascinating love story which was published in the 'Siththara' publication in 1970s, teledrama under the original title was scripted by Sandun Rajakaruna.

The story of 'Itin Eeta Passa' revolves around Dedunu, a young girl from a middle class family who lost her parents when she was young. Dedunu lives with her brother, Senaka, the only relative she has. But he is very strict on her. The only person who is close to her is Maggie, the housemaid. Meanwhile Kelum, a young musician is interested in Deduni and tries to win her heart. Though Dedunu too is interested in him she does not respond due to the fear of her brother.

Meanwhile Nilushi, Dedunu's friend is trying to win Kelum's heart. Will Kelum ever be able to win Dedun's heart? What reaction will they have to face from Senaka?

Budding actress Umayangana Wickramasinghe and debutant Sampath play the lead roles as Dedunu and Kelum while other roles are played by Cletus Mendis, Sanath Wimalasiri, Gihan Fernando, Sarath Kothalawela, Awanthi Aponsu, Anula Bulathsinhala, Janith Wickramage, Susila Kottage, Alfred Perera, Chandika Nanayakkara, Shan Bandu Weerasinghe, Richard Manamudali, Sarath Dikkumbura, Renuka Mapalagama, Jeevani Nirupa Kumari, Piyumi Purasinghe, Udayangani Saman Kumari, Rehana Kaushali and Biyanka Fonseka.

In the technical staff Chandna Dharmapriya is the cameraman, Rohana Weerasinghe is the music director while Chamikara Bokaragoda the art director and Nishantha Priyadarshana is the editor.
Madhuranga Jagoda is the production manager and Manjula Karunaratne the assistant director and Uresha Ravihari and Chamika Sirimanne have rendered their voices as playback singers.
