Randhir riding high

Randhir – Sri Lanka's Hip-Hop heartthrob released his debut album ‘Namal Mitak’ on September 23, 2008 through Universal Music/ M Entertainment. The ‘Namal Mitak’ album contains 14 songs (12 in Sinhalese and 2 in English). Current chart-topping hits from the album include “Namal Mitak”, “Upuli”, “Ojaye” (Remix) and “Kelilola Balmen.” Randhir's “Ojaye” (Remix) is currently a super-hit on Sri Lankan radio. ‘Namal Mitak’ blends together soulful ballads with heavy Hip-Hop club anthems and showcases Randhir's sensuously smooth singing voice and stunning vocal range.

‘Namal Mitak’ is produced by Sri Lankan music legends Bathiya and Santhush. The album is co-produced by music maestro Sri Shyamalangan and features some of Sri Lanka's most sought after lyricists and music composers. The lyricists who penned the songs in Randhir's album are: Kelum Srimal, Nilar N Casim, Vasantha Dukgannarala and Upul Shantha Sannasgala. Randhir's
‘Namal Mitak’ also features the musical genius of veteran music composer Navarathna Gamage and the talented young Sachith Peiris. The album also includes some exciting collaborations with guest artists Umara, Bathiya and Santhush, Tamil Hip Hop Artist Krishan Maheson and German-based Sri Lankan musician Orry Athurugiriya.

Randhir was also recently honoured with the task of representing Sri Lanka as the country's Dance and Electronic Music Ambassador at Germany's C/O POP Music Festival – the first Sri Lankan to be so honoured. C/O POP is the world's biggest dance music festival and is held in the city of Cologne, Germany.

Randhir has also performed at a number of international locations including Los Angeles, New York, Toronto, London, Frankfurt, Köln, Sydney (Opera House), Melbourne, Auckland, Wellington, Bangkok, New Delhi, Goa, Mumbai, Muscat and Doha.
