Aspirations Education was launched four years ago in order to meet the growing demand for guidance and counselling for higher studies in foreign countries. Career Guidance and Placement Services are not rare in our country. But what was lacking was a comprehensive service which has students interest at heart, rather than carrying on as an income generating venture.
Aspirations Education has many a feather in its cap and so many achievements to be humbly proud of, during this comparatively short period. The secret of its success is none other than the sincerity of purpose and the genuine commitment to provide total solutions to prospective students who come for assistance. However tedious the process may be, each case is taken individually, studied thoroughly and students are offered the best possible solutions to overcome their problems with a view to embarking on their desired course of studies. What's more, all these services are offered absolutely free of charge!
Aspirations Education not only offers career guidance and counselling though this is considered the core business. As a socially responsible establishment it has set up the Aspiration Education Foundation to lend a helping hand to the less privileged students of our country by way of Apeksha Scholarships.
Initially 68 students from low income groups who are studying under difficult circumstances in the remote areas were selected for the grant of scholarships. With another 58 students selected this year, a total of 116 students from 8 Provinces will receive a monthly grant till the end of their school career. Aspirations Education is determined to continue such assistance to deserving students in the future too.
Over the years they were able to initiate and organise several International Educational Exhibitions and Fairs in Colombo and outstations with the participation of representatives of foreign Universities and Institutes to create awareness among students and parents about the opportunities available. Aspirations Education has also conducted seminars for the benefit of teachers and career guidance counsellors with the approval of principals of leading government and international schools.
"Pathbreakers" the highly innovative first ever English reality TV show was pioneered and presented by Aspirations last year for undergraduates. There was an overwhelming response from the participants as well as the local TV viewers for this show. "Pathbreakers 2 - Aspirations Conquest" this year, was based on a totally different concept to cater to school children and was able to create much interest and enthusiasm among the young school goers. It was a reality TV show designed to help students gain a more practical experience in analysing and dealing with issues of real time organisation. It truly was a test of general knowledge, teamwork and leadership skills and was a novel experience to the participants. Both these programmes were highly lauded by educationists, professionals and parents alike.
Aspirations Education is a proud signatory of the United Nations Global Compact and is the only educational organization in Sri Lanka to be a part of this global network. UN Global Compact is a voluntary initiative of United Nations where organizations from around the world have rallied under the UN banner to promote good business practices and corporate social responsibility projects.
Aspirations Education is unique both in its approach and performance as nothing is left to chance. In keeping with its vision, while exploring all pathways to utilise the resources available for higher education, it has never failed in its mission to offer the best possible opportunities and options for students to realise their aspirations. As it celebrates the fourth successful year in this competitive field, it has given them a deep sense of satisfaction for being able to contribute its share as a responsible establishment towards making a better future for the younger generation in particular and for the country as a whole. |
