‘Ithin Eeta Passe’, the teledrama based on a yesteryear love tale of picture story book under the same title will telecast its 100th episode on February 17 at 8.30 pm on ITN channel.
A widely read picture story based on the star-crossed lovers ‘Dedunu’ and ‘Kelum’ created by Sarath Madhu was directed to the miniscreen by Sarath Wijesena and produced by Upul Jayasinghe for Nilwala Entertainments.
The teledrama based on the story which first appeared in the ‘Siththara’ publication as way back as 1975 is telecast every weekday at 8.30 pm belt.
It revolves around Dedunu, a young girl from a middle class family who has lost her parents when she was young. Dedunu lives under the thumb of her only brother, Senaka, who is also the only relative she has. Kelum is a young musician who tries to win Dedunu. Though Dedunu too is interested in him she feels afraid to express it out of fear of her brother.
Meanwhile Nilushi, Dedunu’s brother is trying to win Kelum’s heart. Overcoming all obstacles, Kelum manages to win Dedunu’s heart, yet there are many a battles to be fought before they get together.
New actress Umayangana Wickramasinghe and debutant Sampath play the lead roles as Dedunu and Kelum while other roles are played by Cletus Mendis, Sanath Wimalasiri, Gihan Fernando, Sarath Kothalawela, Awanthi Aponsu, Anula Bulathsinhala, Janith Wickramage, Susila Kottage, Alfred Perera, Chandika Nanayakkara, Shan Bandu Weerasinghe, Richard Manamudali, Sarath Dikkumbura, Renuka Mapalagama, Jeevani Nirupa Kumari, Piyumi Purasinghe, Udayangani Saman Kumari, Rehana Kaushali and Biyanka Fonseka.
On the technical staff Chandna Dharmapriya is the cameraman, Rohana Weerasinghe the music director while Chamikara Bokaragoda the art director and Nishantha Priyadarshana are the editors. |
