Kimarli Fernando, CEO of Pan Asia Bank, has been recognised for her contribution to the Banking Sector by the Zonta Club of Colombo at their Woman of Achievement Awards 2009, to be held on March 8.
Ms Fernando was judged a co-winner in the Banking Sector. The awards recognize Sri Lankan women who have excelled in their particular field and felicitate the vision, commitment and courage of such women who are an inspiration to others. She is currently the only female CEO of a bank in Sri Lanka and says she is creating the 'new' Pan Asia Bank, with an unconventional, modern and fresh approach to banking.
'I do appreciate the recognition and look to inspire more women to break the glass ceiling, believe the sky is the limit and the impossible is possible," she said. Last year she was awarded “Professional Women of the Year” by the Women’s Chamber of Commerce. |
