I refer to the letter from Denzil Alwis (The Sunday Times, March 8) about his unpleasant experience at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), on arrival and departure.
In contrast, I have a very pleasant BIA experience to share with readers.
I arrived at the BIA on Flight UL 264 from Dammam on March 3, and a Sri Lankan airlines ground hostess came on board the plane to meet me.
After all the other passengers had disembarked, she pushed me in my wheelchair and took me through my immigration and Customs formalities, and also collected my baggage from the conveyor belt, all with no hassle.
She even helped me make some purchases at the Duty Free Shop, and only left me after my son arrived to take me home.
I thought it only fair to share that very pleasant encounter I had with airport staff.
