AIESEC in Sri Lanka, the local chapter of the world's largest student-run organisation, AIESEC is organising Developing Leaders Day (DLD) 2009 which will be held on May 6, 2009 at University of Colombo with a delegation of 1000 students from local and private higher education institutes and many distinguished corporate personalities in the country.

AIESEC in Sri Lanka is currently present in the universities of Moratuwa, Kelaniya, Sri Jayewardenepura, and Colombo, providing an international platform for its members to discover and develop their potential. This global, non-political, non-profit organisation is comprised of students and recent graduates of these institutions of higher education, who are interested in world issues, leadership, and management. Developing Leaders Day (DLD) aims to connect best undergraduates with the organisations that need them. This event is organised to enhance the leadership capabilities of undergraduates, to provide an unmatched opportunity for career planning and skills training and to create an opportunity for interaction and promotion between companies and graduates. DLD represents an opportunity for organizations to gain access to talented, enthusiastic and self driven students from all major campuses across Sri Lanka and to position themselves as an organization in the forefront of developments in the areas of Youth Leadership.
