Relief for displaced people

People in various parts of the country are rallying round to provide food for the displaced people who have come to the Government controlled areas in the North.

Many political and voluntary groups in the North Central Province have been donating cooked food to the people in camps in Vavuniya, Kilinochchi and Puthukkudiyirippu.

The cooked food which is delivered to the Anuradhapura Air Force camp is airlifted after a thorough security check is conducted.

The Private Bus Owners’ Association also donated food items to the displaced people in the North. Many other voluntary groups are also collecting food and essential food items to be sent to the people in need in the Government controlled areas.
