Staffordshire University, UK recently announced its plan to award international scholarships to seven deserving Sri Lankan students.
These specially designed international scholarships will help Sri Lankan students who are aspiring to do a British degree to realize their dreams. Each scholarship with a value of £3000 is to be deducted from the tuition fee of the chosen degree programme. Scholarships would be offered to any undergraduate or postgraduate student who wish to join the September 2009 intake.
The representatives of the University stated that the academic performances of the applicants would be primarily considered in the selection whilst verifying the financial need for such a scholarship. The screening process and the selection interviews are planned to be conducted in mid-June giving adequate time for the students to fulfil visa requirement.
APIIT Sri Lanka, the local partner of Staffordshire University, initiated and proposed this scholarship scheme to the University after a careful analysis of the Sri Lankan higher education market. This signifies yet another noble endeavour by APIIT to accomplish its mission of providing quality educational opportunities to the Sri Lankan youth.
