Karikalan fired;
Vishu takes over
LTTE's Batticaloa leader Karikalan has been replaced by Vishu, reports
said.
The change was made by the LTTE leadership after Karikalan was summoned
to Kilinochchi following controversial comments he is reported to
have made.
Karikalan is
reported to have said that the Eastern province Muslims would not
be able to own land. However LTTE chief negotiator Anton Balasingham
at the news conference on April 10 claimed that Karikalan had been
misquoted.
There have also
been complaints against Karikalan relating to harassment and collection
of tax.
