'Rhythm of Unity'
No mammoth crowds, no panicky people trying to barge into the venue. 'Rhythm of Unity' organised by the 86 group of St. Joseph's College took shape on Saturday amidst a sparsely-attended crowd but it was indeed a treat for those present at the school auditorium.

As suggested by the name, music was intended to bridge the gaps if any, created in our multi-ethnic society. And to a certain extent it worked well with a wide range of Sinhala and Tamil songs rendered by today's popular artistes.

The show was well anchored by master compere Vijaya Corea and the music backed by Ananda Perera's Siha Shakthi was noteworthy.

Though the first half of the show failed to generate the heat and lacked the sting to make the audience move and shake, the audience could not resisit the temptation to rock themsleves in the second half with ace entertainer A.E. Manoharan leading the way. Apart from A.E.Manoharan, Mohan Raj, Rani Joseph, Victor Ratnayake, Rajiv Sebastian, Niranjala and Abeywardena Balasuriya gave the audience a fine musical treat.

All in all, the show,Rhythm of Unity reminded us that there is at least one common factor among all of us - A factor called music.
