JAFFNA - Despite a cease-fire that has lasted for more
than eight months and much talk of restoring normal life in
Jaffna, residents still buy their petrol or kerosene in bottles
from wayside shops. The government is yet to rebuild the network
of petrol sheds here. Rajah of 'Rajah Fancy Stores' (seen
in picture) sells petrol and kerosene as well as fancy items.
Petrol is sold at Rs. 65 per litre in contrast to the CPC
price in Jaffna's few fuel sheds of Rs. 60. Pic.
