Asian Development
Bank President Tadao Chino in the driving seat of a tractor
in the presence of North-East Provincial Council Chief Secretary
S. Rangarajah. The ADB under the North-East Community Restoration
Development (NECORD) project has donated 50 tractors with
trailers, 50 bowsers and 50 water pumps worth about Rs 50
million to the NEPC to strengthen the sanitation and water
supply system of tsunami-affected local authorities in the
region. Two of the tractors were handed over by Mr Chino
