Gas prices rise but no change in consumption trends

Shell prices have gone up and Laugfs is complaining that its application is being delayed while the Consumer Affairs Authority is having a major clash on its hands with a growing dispute between its chairman and director general. Whether Laugfs gets its increase remains to be seen. On the other hand the rising prices are unlikely to see a drop in consumption of Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) as it impacts only on less than 15 percent of Sri Lankan households.
