outclass Pakistan

Kazakhstan coasted to a 3-0 victory over the confident Pakistan
outfit in the First Asian Central Zone Men’s Volleyball Championship
played at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium yesterday. Earlier in the
tournament Pakistan stunned the Indians causing a major shock in
the tournament.
The
Russian colony won the first set easily at 25-15 but had to go through
some hard times before edging out the Pakistanis at 25-23. At one
time the Pakistan side led 19-18 and later the score board was tied
at 23 points each. In the third set once again Kazakhstan won 25-23.
In
the first game the Indians thrashed the Maldives 25-10, 25-19 and
25-9 to win the game 3-0.
Following
Iran’s pull out from the championship now the competition
is being played on a round robin basis and the table leader will
take the series.
Today will be the final day of the tournament and in the first game
of the day at 11.00 am. Sri Lanka will meet Pakistan and in the
second game India will clash Kazakhstan at 2.00 pm..
