Lion

The lion is a hunter, a master of the art of stalking and leaping, exploding into snarling action when he searches for prey. The lions do not attack people until he is hungry.

We can see the lions in India. They are in the Gir Forest. They are not afraid of other animals but they are afraid of rhinos and elephants. The African lion is rather strong. People can tame it and make it part of a circus. Lions hunt at night. When they are hunting at nights their eyes start blinking. Lions have a mighty roar which has a blood-curdling effect, when they are about to kill.

The picture shows a mother lion playing with its two cubs.

Friendship

We need friends to share our sad and happy moments. That's true friendship. The biggest ship in this world is friendship some say.

Good friends always want to help each other. There are many types of so-called friends in this world who want to gain benefits and other help like money. A good friend never looks for these things.

Having bad friends you get used to bad habits. Alcohol, drugs, theft, and smoking could be introduced by bad friends. Good friends make us good persons. Friendship is a golden word that you should treasure in your life forever and ever.

Houses

Houses are buildings where people live. They are very useful in many ways. They give us shelter from sun and rain.

A house is a place where a family can live together. There are many parts in a house. They are used for many purposes. For example, the dining room for eating meals, the kitchen for cooking food, the verandah for relaxing, the utility room for washing, drying and ironing clothes.

There are different types of houses, like apartments, thatched huts, cottages, and bungalows. Each of these types are built with different building materials. They are in different shapes and sizes. The house is the only place where a person can feel happy and safe.

Water

Water is an essential item for all living beings including humans and animals. Plants too needed water to survive. Humans utilise water in various activities such as cooking, bathing, washing, drinking etc.

Water is also a main liquid (item) used to obtain food like rice. Water is used in paddy cultivation. The electricity we use for our day to day work is also produced by water (hydro). So save water for your future!

A walk on the beach

One fine day,
The sun was bright,
The sky was blue and clear,
I went with my parents to the beach near.

We had a mat and some things to eat,
We sat on the mat,
And had a chat.
We made a sand castle,
Then we had cake and tea.

I put on my swimming dress,
and went to swim.
The water was warm,
One by one the waves came by,
It was so beautiful to feel the water go by.

Then I came out of the water,
Changed my dress
And walked along the beach fresh,
It was a good day to rest.
