Alleged
cheating case in court this week
The case against the managing director of a firm
at Kollupitiya, for involvement in an alleged case of cheating will
be taken up on Tuesday before Fort Magistrate and Additional District
Judge Nimal Balalle. In the case, Managing Director of Trans World
Movers (Pvt) Ltd, Suresh Marcellus was produced in courts in connection
with a case of disputed shares involving a sum of Rs 776,520. The
Sunday Times of April 9, 2006 inadvertently reported the amount
involving the fraud as Rs 7.7 million.
When the case came up in early April, Mr. Marcellus
was released on surety bail of a sum of Rs. 250,000 by the magistrate.
