New PR unit at Sri Lanka Tourist Board

Cabinet approval was last week given to the creation of a new public relations unit at the Sri Lanka Tourist Board after board chairman Udaya Nanayakkara discontinued the services of Singapore-based Bateys PR, board sources said.

They said senior staff in the new outfit would be paid salaries ranging from Rs 50,000 to Rs 75,000 and the board plans to utilize the services of PR agents appointed by Bateys in 13 countries.
