Reborn branded counterfeit garments seized Stafford Garments Industries (Pvt) Ltd of Wellampitiya recently obtained an injunction from the Commercial High Court of Colombo against ‘Novol Tex’of 2nd Cross Street, Colombo 1, preventing them from using the trademark “Reborn”. Earlier more than 2500 counterfeit shirts were seized from the ‘Novol Tex’ shops and “Shogo Tex” shops in Pettah. The shops were raided by the Pettah Police on a search warrant obtained from the Colombo Magistrates Court on a private plaint filed by M/s Sudath Perera Associates, lawyers for Stafford Garments Industries. |

The
complainant said it was owner of the brand name “Reborn”
and its associated trademark “R” in Sri Lanka, and discovered
Novol Tex was selling fake shirts bearing the brand name “Reborn”
in violation of Intellectual Property rights.
