Dialog and HSBC in SMS payment scheme
Customers of Dialog Telekom will soon be able to
pay their bills through HSBC under a ‘Pay Here’ SMS
Bill payment scheme agreed by the two companies.
Under this, a customer only needs to have a HSBC
credit-card and a Dialog post or pre-paid connection to pay their
bills via SMS.
“The philosophy behind this service is to
benefit the customer,” said Dr. Hans Wijayasuriya, CEO, Dialog
Telekom at the recent launch of this special scheme.
This facility was launched on July 20. It also
allows a HSBC credit-card holder to reload their KIT accounts via
SMS. “We intend to provide our customers with the best value,
technology and service,” Wijayasuriya added.
This service will improve the accessibility since
every subscriber who posses a HSBC credit card is now empowered
with the ability not only to pay their bills but also to pay or
carry out these transactions on behalf of family members, friends
or associates.
“Our aim is to provide a remarkable range
of services even when they (customers) are overseas. We value their
convenience,” said David J. H. Griffith, CEO, HSBC Sri Lanka
and Maldives.
Commenting on expansion plans, Dr. Wijayasuriya said that they
will proceed in achieving island wide coverage. With 400,000 customers
in the northeast regions in the bag, he said, “Our expansion
across Sri Lanka will continue”.
He said with a fifth competitor entering the mobile communication
market there will be intense competition where all the services
will be on the basis of customer driven-schemes. |
