Rajans
hold Joes to 3 all draw
By Aubrey Kuruppu
Faulty handling and stray passes were the norm
as Dharmarajah and St. Joseph’s played out a lack-luster three
all draw at Bogambara yesterday.
The second half was a slight improvement on the
first as both teams tried to establish supremacy. The Rajans had
a couple tries for the taking, but anxiety and nervousness in sight
of the goal-line deprived them a chance of going ahead.
The Joes had a chance or two in the opening half
but their efforts lacked finish.
The Rajan back division was swift and they ran
well but the passing and handling were not up to the mark.
Flanker Alahakoon for the Rajans and fly half
Dilshan Perera for the Joes converted the penalties. However it
was the visitors who led first and the Rajans equalized shortly
after. It was three all at the break.
