Mithun wins Pin Fernando trophy

Twenty-year-old Mithun Perera, son of Nandasena Perera, played fantastic golf to card a gross 64, nett 66 to lead the final round at the 28th annual Pin Fernando golf competition at the RCGC yesterday.

His opponent Korean Jin Yong Kim, with a handicap of 15 after carding a nett 68 took the second finalists position for the match play format. He produced steady golf to ensure an exciting final.

On the death hole (the 19th), Mithun produced three perfect shots for a Birdie and captured the Pin Fernando trophy 2006. The event was sponsored by United Tractors and Dexion.- BW
