Hayleys ventures in to hi-tech identification solutions with Bartronics

The Hayleys Group and Bartronics India Limited (BIL) last week announced a major collaboration to develop and market leading edge technology based identification solutions in Sri Lanka through the Hayleys' logistics solutions subsidiary Logiventures Ltd., (LVL).

The partnership paves the way for the two companies to co-operate for the provision of RFID (Radio Frequency Identification Devices), Barcode, Smart Card and similar AIDC (Automatic Identification and Data Capturing) based supply-chain and security improvement solutions to users in Sri Lanka.

These solutions will be customised for applications in sectors such as retailing, manufacturing, assembly, logistics and healthcare, catering to the needs of identification, sorting and classification, tracking and inventory management.

The agreement envisages that the two companies will collaborate in identifying, marketing, planning, designing, component-sourcing, system development and implementation for prospective customers.

Commenting on the new collaboration, Logiventures Director Capt. Lasitha Cumaratunga said: "The latest identification and data capturing solutions like Biometrics, RFID and Electronic Article Surveillance or EAS represent a quantum leap in efficiency and convenience in security and business processes. We believe that the need for such solutions in Sri Lanka is largely un-serviced, and this initiative will tap an area of significant potential."

Bartronics India Ltd Vice President Mr. Sreenivas Parasa said his company, which is India's leading Automatic Identification and Data Capturing (AIDC)solutions provider, was excited at the prospect of extending its reach to Sri Lanka in partnership with Logiventures and the Hayleys Group. Bartronics also provides PVC Cards,Magnetic Cards, Smart Cards and Contactless/Proximity Cards to its clientsacross the world.
