Manel off to China

South Asia’s most experienced Wushu International Judge and Referee Manel Dharmakeerthie has been invited to officiate in the “3rd Sanshou World Cup” by the Technical Committee of the International Wushu Federation (IWUF). It will be held in Xian, PR of China from September 20-25, 2006.

Sanshou, the combat segment of the sport of Wushu initiated its World Cup in 2002 in Shanghai, China and Dharmakeerthie had the honour of officiating as a judge in that World Cup for the first time.

He was invited by the International Wushu Federation Technical Committee again in the 2004 Guanzhou Games, and in last year’s 8th World Wushu Championship held in Hanoi, Vietnam, he had the honour of becoming the only South Asian Wushu Judge and Referee to be invited to the International Judge’s Panel.
