* Let’s call them Jara and Mada.
The latest episode of this duet began when Mada sent
a petition when Jara led the three-cornered tussle into
a muddy fiasco. In the aftermath Mada sent a petition
against Jara and latter was in hot water.
Licking his wounds Jara got into action.
He delved into Muddy’s past and found out about
the love nest he had in the Colombo seven store-room
and the lovely times he had with the flying girl. Added
to it how the couple flew around, their Middle Eastern
destinations and the settling of the phone bills (on
whose account also they have found out) etc etc.
Then there was this Colombo 15 meeting
where Mada and Jara were billed to be present. Suddenly
to some people’s surprise two women also appeared
at the venue at the general male domain. Then suddenly
over some issue Mada was woman handled in front of this
large gathering when one of the women beat him up with
the aid of an umbrella. The woman had accused Mada of
having an affair with her daughter, who is supposed
to be half of Mada’s age.
This is the sorry state of affairs
that this noble game has dived into. We feel sorry for
those who in spite of all this are still bringing accolades
to the country in these difficult times.
* At the recently concluded speed thing
at Katukurunda, Yo became third in the event that he
took part. Being the son of so and so the organizers
suddenly came up with a new category and a new first
prize.
* The Rs. 200 million worth equipment
that that the Channel with the flying bird ordered for
is still on its way. When things got delayed they were
compelled to hire the required equipment from an Indian
Company at an additional cost.
* He who works for the Newworld was
in charge of the SAG Transport. They say he did a good
job and now he has two jobs -- working for the minister
and also for the Newworld. However there also the question
about the expenses incurred at the SAG for Transport,
which was one of the highest!
* They say the Media Minister is not
happy that the Sports Minister not mentioning about
him in his vote of thanks.
