Imran – surprise guest at HSBC weekend retreat

Imran Khan, one-time cricket icon and former Pakistani fast bowler, appeared at a meeting of HSBC’s best sales performers recently surprising those present.

Imran Khan, cricketer-turned politician, spoke in detail about his thoughts and his vision and what it had been like to win at cricket with special mention of his team’s 1992 win at the World Cup, which was at that time, against the odds.

Khan spoke about what prompted his move into politics and what sustained him through the tougher periods. His speech served to move and inspire his audience who were keen to meet him individually, in order to discuss what he had said in greater detail, according to an HSBC statement.

HSBC was hosting its best sales performers to a weekend away at the Kandalama Hotel from February 2 – 4 February as a means of recognising and rewarding their excellent performance.

Simon J Williams, Head of Personal Financial services at HSBC said, “We have a strong performance driven culture here and are fortunate to have an even stronger team on-side. I really do think that we wouldn’t have been able to achieve even a fraction of what we have, if not for the fact that we have such focused and driven people with us.”
