Karuna visits his camps

Thamil Makkal Viduthalai Puligal leader Vinayagamoorthy Muralidaran alias Karuna visited military camps controlled by his cadres in the east, the party said in a statement yesterday

The party also released propaganda pictures of the visit, claiming that they were taken yesterday.

The statement said the one-time LTTE eastern commander during the visit launched a special attack force and a special spy attack force and appointed commanders and cadres for the units.

The TMVP said its leader was welcomed by the group’s special commander Pillayan.“He stayed in the military bases for two days and held talks with the commanders on strategies to meet the challenges in the political field,” the statement said.

The statement said the visit squashed the rumours that Karuna faction commanders had fled the country.
