The tale of Ceylon Tea |
|
Sri Lanka Tea industry commemorated the 125th death anniversary of James Taylor, the Father of the Tea Industry in Ceylon on 2 May. Taylor moved to then Ceylon in 1842, when he was 17 years old. After living for forty years in the country, Taylor contracted dysentery and died within two days in his log cabin on 2 May 1882 at Loolecondura Estate at the age of 57 years. |

The Fortress: Hottest new hotel |
The Fortress has been named one of the world's hottest new hotels in both the Condé Nast Traveller UK Hot List 2007 and in the Condé Nast Traveler US Hot List 2007. The Lime Spa at The Fortress also entered the Hot Spa List within the US edition. The UK and US Hot Lists are compiled independently of each other by an anonymous group of writers who evaluate new hotels and resorts around the world. |

The CEL circuit, which is famous for the prestigious releases, has lined up a series of Sinhala films made by veteran award winning filmmakers. Following talented Anuruddha Jayasinghe's maiden cinematic venture ‘Sankranthi’ by acclaimed filmmaker Vasantha Obeysekera's ‘Aganthukaya’ (The Outcast) will be released. |
