Four burned at barbecue

An explosion in a half barrel which was being used as a barbecue in the premises of the hill country shooting association range left four injured, with three being admitted to Kandy Hospital and one to the Colombo National Hospital. The accident occurred when members of two motoring clubs were enjoying their night buffet after their trials.

The caterers were alleged to have poured one bottle of spirits of wine into the barrel, when one or two spoonsfuls were the prescribed amount for this barbecue.
