Super Cop Sunda wins Sirikit Kickoff Trophy in Style

Nug de Silva, President of the Sri Lanka Golf Union completed a helluva successful promotion at the Ridgeways of the Royal Colombo to raise funds to meet the demands of the Sirikit Trophy. The “Kick off” was an outstanding success and after sunset the scene was rousing. SriLankan Airlines played hosts to a glittering award ceremony laced with 60 minutes of cracking entertainment.

Ladies Splendour
Melina Awn a delightful teenager takes all styles of sport in her stride. Comparatively new to golf she has cultivated a strong streak of confidence. She drives fearlessly and when on the greens she appears to know what she has to do. Her dad is over the full moon relishing her success. Coming behind was Sonya Boyle another smart teenager reeking with enthusiasm to improve her skills. Awn and Boyle are excellent prospects Glamour girl Sandra Ramanayake came right once again with an excellent round to collect a special award and massive cheers. R. Sangani walked behind her to stay in 2nd position.

Super Cop Shines
V.T. Sunderalingam often referred to as the “Super Cop” was in great form. He drives accurately and with the luck omnipotence spreads a few of his putts made the cup rattle.

Sunderalingam was the popular winner of the “A” Classic. Young Binupa Wijesinghe had to be content with 2nd position.
Janak “Hulk” Hirdaramani moved out of the wildness after months of absolute inactivity. He played great golf enjoying the richness of the fairways and calling the shots on the greens. Intoxicated with his success he had a smashing party at his residence and followed it up with a holiday for his staff on Monday. Nilkamal Perera was not unhappy coming behind in the “B” Category.

Bimal Fernando made a great recovery in the “C” Division from an early setback to take a slender lead and stay with it and the Trophy beating Kamlesh Johnpillai who was just plain unlucky.

After Sunset
The Award Ceremony was slick after N.U.G. de Silva and Renton de Alwis spoke impressively and eloquently. Showtime was glittering and absolutely outstanding thanks to SriLankan Airlines and their organizing promotional skills.

The star performer was Monique Wille a smart flashy entertainer, draped in a stunning black outfit with a tantalizing slit on the side exposing a gorgeous slice of the left leg in bewitching style. She was crowd pleasing. Shanelle and Ricky followed to captivate the crowd. SriLankan Airlines did themselves proud putting all these classy acts together. And then we had the irrepressible Chandana de Silva beaver busy detailing the arrangements which fell into place superbly, until an attractive lass moved him to the dance floor where he displayed his foot-craft enthusiastically through an elastic late evening.

More Sirikit fund raisers are being planned and greater participation and more flashy entertainment will come up thanks to Chandana the man behind the scene.
