Jim Reeves comes alive on SLBC

Legendary Jim Reeves will be featured on Musical Gems programme on August 5, Sunday on SLBC from 1.30 to 2.30 pm. This special program is in connection with his 43rd Death Anniversary of who pioneered the 'Country Pop' medium from that old traditional Hillbilly style, thus earning the title 'The Greatest Sound in Country Music'.

Though he is gone, his music still remains as fresh as the morning dew. The secret is, his powerful winsome melodies are deeply emotional, profound. Fascinating, heartwarming and highly sensitive in nature, Jim never recorded a song if it did not convey a message and mission. That's the secret why his songs still remain great favourites.

"You never get tired of listening to Jim Reeves song". This special programme will be presented by that popular TV and radio personality, Bevil Palihawadana and Jayaratne Perera, the President of the local Jim Reeves Fan Club.
