Generous gesture by Convent staff, students

Students of Galporuwa junior school located 40 kilometres off Hasalaka were in for a special entertainment and educational trip courtesy of the students and teachers of St Anthony’s Convent, Kandy.

These students from the remote school who had hardly visited Kandy were able to pay homage to the Dalada Maligawa and visit the Embekke Devale and Lankatilaka Vihara and the Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya.

Most of the students said they had not even visited the Hasalaka town let alone visiting Kandy. The students spent two days in Kandy and were provided with items needed for the school as well as items of clothing for them.
