Amal Goonetilleke of Taj Samudra Hotel was elected Chairperson of the PATA Sri Lanka Chapter for 2008 /2009 while Nirmala De Mel of Quickshaws Tours Ltd and Mr. Lalith Rodrigo of Galle Face Hotel were elected as Vice Chairpersons at its recent AGM.

The Sri Lanka Chapter membership consists of 72 local members, comprising travel agents, tour operators, sightseeing operators, ground/water transportation operators and hoteliers.

The following were elected as Committee members of the PATA Sri Lanka Chapter for the year 2008 / 2009: Nalin Jayasundera - Aitken Spence Travels Ltd, Devindra Senaratne – Journeyscapes, Hiran Cooray - Jetwing Hotels Ltd, Ms. Ratten Abdulhussain - Panlanka Ltd, Anil Ellepola - Ranweli Holiday Village, Ms. Shamalie De Vaz - Silverline Tours Ltd, Ms. Zahara Cader - Tallman Tours Ltd, Kanishka Fernando - TangerineTours Ltd, Sega Nagendra - Travelserve Ltd, Lalith Rodrigo - Galle Face Hotels and Roshan Opatha - Walkers Tours Ltd.

Afghar Mohideen of United Holidays joins the Committee in his capacity as the Immediate Past Chairman.
