New look Golden Chimes

Lankika and the Golden Chimes celebrate their 38th year in the field of music this year. Golden Chimes continuously performed at concerts, weddings, dances and social events and Gospel programmes during the four decades of music scene.

Their original songs such as 'Kimada Naave', 'Mage Pelpathe', 'Muhudu Rella', 'Kiri Muhuda', 'Sihin Sinawai', 'Ma Adare Nangi', 'Molaketi Puthuni', 'Dalada Perahera' etc. are still in the hearts of music lovers. Most of the Golden Chimes songs are composed by late Clarence Wijewardene and Lakpriya de Silva. Chamila Perera, the second son of Chanaka and Lankika has joined the line up as the vocalist mainly to sing western songs to widen their repertoire. He is a professional DJ and also the Director of Innovents Event Management Solutions (Pvt) Ltd. and Cool Jays Entertainment (Pvt) Ltd.

Chamila is a versatile musician. Chanaka, leader of the Golden Chimes was the bassist for Beacons, Moonstones and Golden Chimes and he is in the field of music for the past 42 years. 'I will be taking over from my father hoping to be the bassist for Golden Chimes from next year.

Golden Chimes are planning to release their new CD comprising their popular hits and some new songs composed by Lankika. Golden Chimes now comprising; Chanaka Perera-Leader/bass/vocals, Lankika Perera - vocalist, Suranga Perera - lead guitar/vocals, Lalaka Peiris - keyboards/vocals, Kamal Gallage - drums, Eranga Fernando - Congas/vocals and Chamila on vocals
