Conrad to rock Galadari

Conrad de Silva of Jetliners and Spitfires fame will come alive at the lobby of Galadari Hotel on October 11, 12, 17 and 18. Conrad was one of Sri Lanka's best known and well loved singers during his time in Colombo.

He left Sri Lanka in 1972 to migrate to Australia. He continued his singing career in Aussie too by singing with many Australian bands and doing floor shows at many hotels. He will be flying in to Colombo to perform exclusively at the Galadari.

He was the first lead singer of the group 'The Spitfires' and was later joined by Budrin Musafer and together they rocked the 'Akasa Kade' and Ceylinco Hotel. They were well known as the harmonizing duet. Their rendition of 'Crying Time' is still talked about.

Conrad then joined 'The Jetliners' and toured Bombay and Singapore with Mignonne and Loretta. He then joined Gabo and the Breakaways and sang with Priyanthi. Conrad was well known for his Tom Jones songs especially 'Delilah', 'I'll Never Fall in Love', 'Danny Boy' and 'Love Me Tonight' - just to name a few.

His repertoire will consist of songs from Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, Michael Buble, Bobby Darin and Harry Connick Jr. He may also throw in some Tom Jones and Steve Wonder for good measure.
