Renton de Alwis who has been the Chairman of both, the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau and the Tourism Development Authority for the past one year has been appointed as the Chairman of the Steering Committee that has been set up to spearhead World Bank funded "Capacity Building Project", the Tourism Ministry said. It said for this purpose Mr. de Alwis is stepping down from the Chairmanship of the Tourism Development Authority with effect from October 31 but will continue as the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau.
