Mother's Touch Institute of Child Care Management and Early Childhood and Education was the brain child of Mrs. Geetha Kaduwela when she returned home, armed with her qualifications from Australia.
She foresaw and understood that there was a great need and demand for professional care givers and quality Day Care facilities in Sri Lanka and overseas. Thus Geetha earns the credit as the initiator of home based day care facility in Sri Lanka. She stressed on protecting children's safety, health and nutrition with happiness essential in the earliest years.
It is her fervent desire to give this important message to all mothers with children of 6 months to 8 years. With many mothers taking a career path and needing assistance, it was more than evident to her that she with her qualifications and training had to contribute to the dire need of professional care giving.
Mrs. Geetha Kaduwela started her very first child care training and diploma course in year 2006, with small beginnings to a small group of individuals.
As she reflects on the past two years, many are the students who have passed through her hands and left the country for further studies or employment. During this period of time her Institute was accepted by the National Tertiary and Vocational Training Commission (TVEC) which is a value addition to the Diploma Certificates she offers.
With this certification many students have been able to secure employment in the West, in Early Childhood and Day Care centers, especially in Australia, Canada, UK, U.S.A and New Zealand.
"Mother's Touch Vision is to train a world class caregiver and a teacher to nurture a world class citizen" says Mrs. Kaduwela.
An appropriate quotation by the great Early Child Educator, John Amos Komensky (Comenius) 1529-1616, who contributed to a universal system of education, said that "EDUCATION SHOULD BE GIVEN STEP BY STEP FROM SIMPLE TO THE MORE COMPLEX AND FROM NEAR TO THE DISTANT AND FROM GENERAL TO THE MORE SPECIFIC".
