There’s a price to pay for an egg a day

One large egg contains approximately 215 milligrams of cholesterol. Eggs also contain saturated fat and animal protein.

People who eat one or more eggs a day have a 25 percent greater risk of death over a 20-year period compared with those who generally avoid eggs, according to a Physicians’ Health Study done by Harvard medical experts.

The risk of death was double for those with diabetes.

For their study, the Harvard team kept track of the health and dietary habits of 21,327 persons over a 20-year period.
