World’s most expensive Bone China tableware

Bone China tableware invented in UK is now being manufactured in Sri Lanka by Noritake Lanka Porcelain (Pvt) Ltd, a subsidiary of Noritake Co Ltd of Japan. Export of these products are already underway to Japan, the USA and the UK. The new product was launched last week in Colombo.
Noritake Lanka has invested over Rs. 300 million to manufacture Bone China in its factories in Matale and Pannala.

It has installed modern fast firing kiln, automated forming machine and spray glazing machines at these factories. Managing Director of the company Motoyasu Nakannishi told The Sunday Times FT that the production capacity of Bone China tableware is 100,000 pieces per month. Pic by J. Weerasekera
