How would you like to earn a degree, a diploma or learn a skill without actually having to "go" to class? Or learn when it is most convenient to you? Or continue your education while you still keep your full-time job?
Well, if you answered "Yes", to any or all of the questions Distance Learning could be for you; because you can find this kind of flexibility when you're a Distance Learning student.
Distance Education is a method of education in which the learner is physically separate from the teacher. The physical distance between learner and teacher is bridged by means of at least one appropriate technological medium which enables communication with one another at a distance.
Electronic media such as TV, telephone or the internet as well as print/postal systems are commonly used media. Learning occurs by interaction of tutors with learners and resources through such media.
In some ways, a course taught by Distance Learning methods isn't all that different from a traditional class. You still get assignments, work on group projects, view or listen to lectures, study for tests and quizzes, and communicate very frequently with your classmates and tutors.
