Investors at a local broking company watch a screen on Monday as share prices soar following the government announcement that the LTTE had been defeated and the near 30 year-long war had ended. Some investors are seen in a pensive mood wondering whether to sell and make a profit or hold onto the stock. The Colombo share market soared averaging about Rs 2 billion turnover per day to nearly Rs 6 billion for the week. The All Share index rose by about 13% and the Milanka Index by 19% at the end of the 4-day, trading week. Pic by J. Weerasekera |
