Prime land for commanders

The commanders of the armed services are to be gifted ten perches of prime land each in Colombo in honour of their role in the military victory over the LTTE terrorists, Urban Development Minister Dinesh Gunawardena said yesterday.

He said the cabinet had taken this decision to gift land to Army Commander Sarath Fonseka, Navy Commander Wasantha Karannagoda and Air Force Commander Roshan Gunatilleke and the Land Reclamation and Development Corporation had been directed to implement the decision.
