The bhajans and prayers held last Sunday were at the release of the book 'Swamiji and His Bhajans' which was a compilation of bhajans sung by Swami Shanthananda Saraswathy including his own compositions and not of Swami Premananda, as was inadvertently reported in the Sunday Times of July 12.
Swami Shanthananda is the founder of the charity, Temple of Fine Arts International which serves the divine through devotion to the fine arts. As a Guru of the Shiva family members worldwide, he was a spiritual guide and inspiration, the book states, adding that although Swamiji attained Samadhi in July 2005, his mission continues through his devotees.
Sunday's event which was held at the Saraswathie Hall, Lorenz Road, Bambalapitiya, was organized by Selvi Sachithanandam of the 'Mandru' Institute for Alternative Development and Regional Co-operation and not by Thalatha Perera.
