Sri Lanka’s newest telecom service provider Airtel, has linked up with major retailers in the country to increase access to its services.
Bharti Airtel Lanka, a subsidiary of India’s Bharti Airtel Limited, announced this week that it had entered into a partnership network with major supermarket chains and consumer goods retailers.
Airtel is partnering with Cargills Food City, Keells and Arpico supermarkets, and consumer goods retailers Singer and Abans, and also bookseller M.D. Gunasena.
Airtel services are offered at retail outlets and supermarkets and will include payment of bills for all Post-Paid connections and also reload facilities for Pre-Paid connections. Airtel Stores have also been set up at selected strategic locations within partner establishments, to allow purchases of new Pre-Paid and Post-Paid connections.
Airtel started operations in Sri Lanka in January this year but says it has already captured 1 million customers. |
