He said “I have ended my school cricket career the way that any schoolboy would want. For this I must thank my dear mother who was my motivator and has been right behind my cricket career. If not for my mother I would not have achieved or gone so far”.
Since joining Ananda four years back from Dharmasoka College, Ambalangoda, Dinesh has gone from strength to strength which culminated in him being selected as the king of schoolboy cricket for the year 2009.
Dinesh first speaking of the awards he received said “I was not aiming or looking forward for awards, what I wanted after coming to Ananda was to grab the opportunity of improving my cricket.
“I have no doubt achieved this feat and now my aim is to get selected to the national team. I will work hard for it as I have done during my school cricket career.
“It was through sheer dedication and hard work that I came up to this level and I will not throw away any chances that I get in the future” said a jubilant Dinesh. |
