Northern Sports fest launched

The Northern Districts Sports festival was launched in Jaffna at the Duraiyappah Stadium Jaffna, yesterday.

Previously this event was held at venues like Trincomalee and Vavunia. This is the first time the Northern Province sports festival will be held in Jaffna.

Sportsmen and women who are staying in Jaffna welfare centers(Wanni IDP's) were also given the opportunity to participate.

Northern Province Governor Major General Chandrasiri and Social Service Minister Douglas Devananda were the Chief Guests.
