Rizvi consolidates his position
BATA- the Sunday Times Most Popular School Boy Cricketer Contests 2010

Carey’s Raihaan Rizvi who took over the lead from the second count continued to stretch his lead when he polled 1948 votes at the end of the fourth count to retain the top spot of the BATA-The Sunday Times Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year Contest 2010. Rizvi is now way ahead of the rest having accumulated 6168 votes.

Geshan Wimaladharma who came out on top in the first count polled just 57 votes to end on 837 against his name. There is one change in the third slot with Royal’s Shavinda Edirisuriya who occupied the fourth position at the end of count four has moved up one place replacing Mohamed Ijaz of DSS.

In the outstation category Nalin Priyadharshana of Siri Piyarathana MMV Padukka retained his lead at the top. Nalin polled 356 votes to finish on 1162 with G. Ayeshan of Holy Cross College Kalutara and Kavindu Ashan Perera of Royal Panadura maintaining the second and third spots. In the International Schools category the contest between the three cricketers from Lyceum International Wattala keeps on fluctuating with Tharusha Tillekeratne who was lying third last week replacing two former leaders Shaji Rayyan Samman and Nesaraja Revenson who incidentally was replaced by Shaji last week.

Thushara polled 348 votes which is also the highest in this category so far to finish on 50 votes while Shaji received 239 votes to end on 417. Reader’s prizes go to: 1.
