The Management and Science University (MSU) of Malaysia has tied up with the Postgraduate Institute of Business Management (PIBM) to conduct Bachelor's, Master's including MBA and Doctoral programmes now in Sri Lanka.
The birth and success of MSU has been attributed to the success of its collegiate institutions, the PTPL group, which made its debut 3 decades ago. Besides achieving a few firsts in the local education landscape, PTPL with a student population of over 17,000 has been consistently strong in several critical areas of studies.
The Group's role in providing quality and industry relevant education has been well received by those who have earned its qualifications. MSU is a fully accredited university with the accreditation of MOHE - Ministry of Higher Education, MQA - Malaysian Qualifications Agency, ABEST21 Japan - The Alliance on Business Education and Scholarship for Tomorrow, AAPBS Korea - The Association of Asia-Pacific Business Schools, ASIC UK - Accreditation Service for International Colleges and listed in the top five among 25 universities under this accreditation, International Association of Universities and thereby the University Grants commission of Sri Lanka.
The PIBM has a history of fulfilling an existing gap in academic and professional development in terms of providing education of the highest standard consistently since its inception, having realised it as a pertinent need for innovative strategic development of the nation. Prior assessment of training and development needs, adoption of international syllabuses to meet growing business demands, consistently superior delivery, highest assessment standards, and flexibility yet by no means compromising standards, in combination had given PIBM an edge that sustained its consistent growth.
The eighteen months MBA has been one of the most popular programmes at PIBM which has attracted many from the best in the corporate sector.
The comprehensive curriculum and the assessment criteria of this programme are on par with internationally recognised MBA programmes. To create global network, to be better entrepreneurs, to obtain strategic direction, to create confidence in business and develop management skills and techniques, to possess a broad understanding of business and management issues, to understand the global issues and strategies and to improve one's knowledge base and skills are some of the reasons to pursue MSU MBA.
Management and Science University (MSU) offers PhD in Sri Lanka. PIBM conducts the entire programme in Sri Lanka under the guidance of MSU. Three modules on research methodology will be taught in the first half of the programme and the balance is mainly on the research under supervision and the entire programme will take a minimum of three years on a part time basis.
Having observed the growing need for education the PIBM has extended its outreach in establishing a regional campus in the outskirts and it will further extend its presence to other parts of this country with a network of Accredited Centres to offer a wider range of study programmes in various fields to accommodate the void in knowledge and skills in today's context to a greater extent. |
