Slap bang in the middle of the pavement

I was walking along Havelock Road in Colombo and was shocked to find a billboard of a politician right in the middle of the pavement.

Billboards are springing up everywhere, even in people’s front yards. Whoever is responsible has no consideration for the public or the environment. The public has a right to know who gave permission to have this particular board erected.

Was it the Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) or the Road Development Authority (RDA)? Or was the high-handed action of the politico himself. Whichever it was, let us remind the public that there are state agencies appointed to oversee the safety and welfare of pedestrians. Are these people doing their job?
