Whenever there is a general election, the public is extra alert and interested in our politicians and what they are doing.
But what matters is that we stay alert and interested in what our politicians are doing once they are elected.
Do not forget that it is our money that keeps politicians and Members of Parliament in office.
We are paying them to serve us, and we expect them to serve us well.
We, the people, should watch our politicians closely and judge them impartially. The media should fearlessly scrutinise the government and ask questions regarding all government plans, moves and expenditure to develop the country.
After all, we are spending large sums of our money to support the Members of Parliament.
It is your money that is being spent, so it is your responsibility to keep close tabs on what the Parliamentarians are doing, and how they are contributing towards the betterment of the country.
